Spread Humanist ideas, member get member

To spread Humanist ideas and encourage Dorset Humanists' friends, family or acquaintances to become members.

I propose that Dorset Humanists funds the purchase of 10 or more copies of 'The God Delusion' by Richard Dawkins (£4.49) and 'Letter to a Christian Nation' (£5) by Sam Harris.
  • stick a printed label on the cover "Read then pass onto a friend or please return to 'name, address & telephone of Dorset Humanist'. Join Dorset Humanists www.dorset-humanists.blogspot.com to discuss these issues twice a month in Bournemouth'
I suggest Dorset Humanists give a prize at the 2008 AGM to the member who brings along the greatest number of friends or family to Dorset Humanists meetings.

    I would prefer this idea if it suggested a book about Humanism rather than a book specifically dealing with atheiem. Atheism is one of the philosophical starting points of Humanism, but Humanism is much broader than mere atheism. The most recent general introduction to Humanism is Jim Herrick's. David Warden
